meet your designer
I’m Tiare, Austrian, and founder of the interior design studio TIARO HOMES on the beautiful Sintra-Cascais coast. I blend intuitive sensitivity with architectural precision, crafting soulful interiors for internationals building a new life in Portugal. My work is grounded in dedication, structure and empathy. To me, interior design is a form of personal expression and has a strong influence on how we live, connect, and thrive.
After an international career in innovation management, I took my backpack and walked 220km – alone – along Portugal’s wild coast. Surrounded by the ocean, I heard my own voice again and decided to rebuild my life with intention.
I moved to Sintra, studied interior design at Cascais School of Arts & Design, learned Portuguese, and founded my studio. Today, I translate identities into spaces, helping clients feel grounded and at home in their new chapter.

My approach blends intuitive sensitivity with technical precision, guiding you from vision to realisation with calm, gentle direction, and intention. My process has three stages:

- Discovery: We define your vision, needs, and aesthetic direction — and assess the scope of your project.
- Design Direction: I translate your vision into a refined concept: layout, flow, palette, materials, furnishings, and architectural detailing.
- Realisation: Depending on your package, I manage sourcing, custom pieces, trades, renovation coordination, and installation.
Whether it’s a single room, a full home, a premium rental, or a complete renovation, the process remains the same: structured, transparent, and seamless.
You choose your level of involvement — I guide everything else.
Where do you work — and do you offer online services?
Our design studio is based on the Cascais–Sintra coastline. I work across Cascais, Sintra, Lisbon, across Portugal and beyond. I also offer online interior design for clients worldwide — a seamless process that delivers the same clarity, depth, and direction across borders.
What kind of projects do you take on, and what budget should I expect?
I work with clients who value quiet luxury, thoughtful design, and a high level of craftsmanship. Projects range from single-room transformations to full-home furnishing, premium Airbnb/rental design, and turnkey renovations.
Because every project is bespoke, budgets vary based on scope, materials, and level of involvement. In the interior design concept phase we align expectations around quality, intention, and the investment needed to create a meaningful transformation.

I work with a trusted network of contractors, carpenters, craftsmen and brands — or I can collaborate with your architect or team.

Where identities becomes spaces.
MULTI-FAMILY HOME
A large plot in Sintra is becoming a home that holds many lives: a private home, a rental apartment, an Airbnb, work and event spaces, and a shared garden with pool.
The design is grounded in calm and sustainability, giving each zone its own clarity of purpose. Mediterranean warmth meets the owner’s Spanish and Asian influences, while honouring the Portuguese soul of the house. I love that my client dares to use colour to express herself. We are using a palette that’s alive, warm, earth-inspired, and deeply hers.
OCEAN VIEW LIVING
A home that no longer fitted this international family’s life: a small, dark kitchen, limited storage, and a layout that kept them apart.
We opened and extended the kitchen into the living area, creating space for a generous island where the whole family can cook, gather, and eat together with stunning sea views. Hidden storage, new furniture, and thoughtful details brought calm, flow, and harmony throughout.

BEDROOM RENOVATION
When their first baby arrived, this couple faced a common challenge: just one bedroom that now had to work for three, without a major renovation, since the home was rented.
We rethought the room in two zones: a peaceful nursery area for the baby with added storage, while preserving privacy for the parents. An easy, rental-friendly solution.
The result blends his Scandinavian minimalism with her Ethnic warmth, a room they now call their „cozy nest“: calm, and built around how the family lives and rests.
